Indian Institute of Technology Delhi was established in the year 1961, IIT Delhi is one among the seven IIT offering teachings and instructions in engineering and applied sciences at a level that is comparable to the very best ones in the world. Initially, the institute was known as College of Engineering. Later, it was declared as an Institution of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology Act, 1963, and then it was renamed as Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
