Aiims Courses
AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) was constituted in 1956 as an independent institution by an Act of Parliament. AIIMS was constituted with the aim of developing patterns of teaching in Undergraduate and Post-graduate Medical Education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of Medical Education in India. All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi runs a number of undergraduate courses in medicine, nursing and linked fields, and postgraduate courses in virtually all the basic and clinical medical specialties and superspecialites. A total of 42 fields are taught at AIIMS, New Delhi. Admissions to all the courses are made on the basis of entrance examinations carried on all over the nation.
