Annamalai University is a state university in Tamil Nadu founded in 1929. The Directorate of Distance Education plunged in 1979 provides four hundred and one different programmes of study under the veritable Stream. The University which began with only seven sections in 1929 has, over the last 80 years, formulated into a mighty institution of higher learning with nearly 49 Departments, in all 9 Faculties. The university is UGC recognized. The university provides courses in various fields of admitting Arts, Science, Indian Languages, Engineering and Technology, Education, fine Arts, Agriculture, Medicine, Dentistry etc.
