BCECEB 2011 Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has been formed by the Government of Bihar in accordance with the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Act 1995. The specified candidates get admission in the universities, colleges and institutions of Bihar as well as those located outside the state against state quota seats. The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) conducts Combined Competitive Entrance Examinations (BCECE) for accession in Graduate level Vocational Courses in Engineering, Medical and Agricultural streams available in the Universities, Colleges and Institutions of the State of Bihar as well as those located outside Bihar against State Quota seats.
At present the Board Conducts following entrance examinations. :-
1. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE)
2. Post Graduate Medical Admission Test (PGMAT)
3. Diploma Certificate Competitive Entrance Examination (DCECE)
4. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination [Lateral Entry] – BCECE [LE]
5. ITICAT
Eligibility for BCECEB 2011
The candidates must have passed the Inter (Sc) Exam with Chemistry, Physics and Maths as subjects or an equivalent exam. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam are also eligible.
Minimum Age Limit
For Engineering/ Pharmacy Stream, there is no minimum age limit.
Admission Procedure
Application form and syllabus for the BCECEB 2011 can be obtained from the Engineering Colleges/notified agencies in the month of January/ February. The completed applications along with exam fee should reach allow authority by the notified date commonly in the month of March/ April. Application forms and brochure can be obtained form the Canara Bank branches in the state of Bihar. Last date of sending the application is 23rd February 2011.
Selection
Selection is made on merit in BCECE conducted at various centers in the State. The test is held usually in the month of May/ June. Separate merit list is prepared for general/reserved categories. List of successful examinees is notified in leading State newspapers /colleges.
Reservation of seats
SC-14%, ST-10%, BC-10%, children of armed personnel-1 seat. Two seats in each college of Sindri, Muzaffarpur, Patna and Bhagalpur are reserved for those holding a diploma in Engineering. Seats are also reserved for Central Government candidates and for candidates belonging to States/Union Territories which do not have engineering colleges.

when a candidate uses his catagory rank instead of genral rank then will the genral catagory seat vacated by him can be filled by a student of genral catagory students or can be filled by only catagory students.
