The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) was established through Ghanshyam Das Birla in the year of 1929 as an intermediate college. During 2nd World War, the Indian Govt. founded a technical training center at Pilani to prepare technicians for defence services and industry. The Institute is an all-India Institute for higher education. The main objective of BITS is to “prepare young men and women able and eager to make and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information”. Its settled at Pilani in Rajasthan state in India.

Eligibility for Admissions
For admission to any of the above Integrated 1st Degree curricula examinees should have passed the 12th exam of 10+2 system from a accredited Central or State board or its equal with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Further the examinee should have obtained a min of total 80% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics disciplines in 12th exam, with at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics disciplines and should have adequate proficiency in English.
