Introduction
Central Drug Research Institute is one of the first and few labs that were founded in India right after its independence. CDRI is among the thirty eight labs that are operating under the auspices of the council of scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of India led by the Prime Minister of the nation as its president.

CDRI was officially begun on 17th Feb 1951 by the then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. CDRI is considered to be an innovator research organization in the area of biomedical research where all the substructure and expertise are available to formulate a drug right from its conception to market. CDRI is a multidisciplinary experiment lab consisting of technological personnel of several fields of biomedical sciences.

General Conditions for PhD
The above fellowships are exclusively irregular and selected candidates will have no claim explicitly or implicitly for any post/position in any of the CSIR Laboratories/Institutes including CDRI. The engagement as Research Scholars will be created for sponsored Projects for its duration/tenure only.

Analytical Services
The Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility has various extremely advanced and new logical instruments. Analytical services are provided to both domestic and outside users. The facilities are availed by about 250 inner users and 500 outside users every year.
