Coal mining first set out in India in the year 1815. The private Railway Companies started mining actions in the year 1850. The Railway Board Nationalized the coal mining in 1925. The Railway collieries were changed to the Coal Board in the year 1944. CCL has played a major role in socio-economic development of Jharkhand region. In 47 years of its existence it has virtually brought out development in many backward areas through its mining activities, employment opportunities and achieving basic infrastructure to several remote and inaccessible areas.

The CCL management believes that success in achieving the organizational goal mostly depends on the effective participation/ involvement of the workers.
The Welfare and Community Development activities undertaken are talked about in Welfare Board Meeting held at the corporate flat and decisions taken and implemented therein generate ‘We Feeling’. To further create a healthy competition ‘Welfare Fortnight’ will be organized.

this is to inform you that my husband died in harness on13-05-2005 at regional hospital n.k.area dakra leaving bhind me and two sons and adaughter my son has applied for appointment but some corrupted officer of dharbanga house has blocked my son’s appointment latter.

my father died on 4-6-2010 .
he was working as selection grade assistant in tamil nadu forest department Thirunalveli (social forestry section)our family was fully depending on my father.so now there is no source of income for us.I am a married girl of 25 years and i would like to know about the details of the “die in harness” scheme of tamil nadu government to get a job for me as soon as possible.
