Introduction
The Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), launched in 1948, has its origins in the loyal ardor of Dr. R. M. Alagappa Chettiar, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Dr. Shanthi Swarup Bhatnagar. On January 14, 1953 CECRI turned a physical world when Dr. S. Radhakrishnan devoted CECRI, the twelfth national laboratory beneath the CSIR, to the nation. CECRI today is a lofty family of 427 employees, 137 of whom are scientists. It presents the biggest research administration for electrochemistry in South Asia,
