Introduction
The Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute (CIFRI) is the most former prime research institute in the airfield of inland fisheries research and training in India. Launched ab initio as Central Inland Fisheries Research Station by the Govt. of India at Kolkata in 1947, it adopted the status of an institute and changed to Barrackpore (North 24-Parganas, West Bengal) in 1959. The Institute came under the administrative operate of Indian Council of Agricultural Research in October 1967. The main aims of the institute were to carry investigations for a right assessment of inland fisheries resources of the nation and to evolve suitable methods for their conservation and optimum usage.

Age Limit,
18-30 year relax 3 (three) years for OBC campaigners.
No age limit for ICAR employees.

Qualification
10th passed with one year certificate course in Fisheries/ Basic Computer fundamentals and Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point & MS Access) & MS Windows / Water Soil Quality Analysis/Microbiology Analysis/Chemical Analytical Work / Biochemical Course
