Central Research Institute for Siddha 2011
National Institute of Siddha, (NIS) Chennai was set up in 1998 under the Societies (Registration) Act 1860 in pursuance of the policy of the Department to set up one national level institute for each Indian System of Medicine & Homeopathy. The main objective of the institute is to impart post-graduate education in Siddha, to conduct research, to provide medical care through Siddha system of medicine and to promote and propagate the science and technique of Siddha. The institute is inviting application for its upcoming session 2011-2012, the details are given below:-
Course offered:
B.S.M.S. (Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery) & Postgraduate- M.D.(Siddha)-Degree course.
Duration:
The duration of the course is four and 1/2 years and 1 year Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (CRRI).
Admissions Eligibility
The student must have passed in the HSE Equivalent to 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The candidate must have studied in Tamil medium up to 10th /HSE/studied Tamil as a subject up to 10th for B.S.M.S. and the candidate must have passed in B.I.M I B.S.M.S Degree Examination of any Indian University with successful completion of Compulsory Rotatory Resident Internship (C.R.R.I). Candidates who have completed or will be completing CRRI before the date of Entrance Examination alone are eligible to apply for the Postgraduate- M.D.(Siddha)-Degree course.

Selection Procedure:
Selection of the candidate is based on the personal interview and written test of candidate. The candidate selection is also based on the rules and regulation of the National Institute of Siddha.
