Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology was founded by the Department of Atomic Energy, India to extend the activities guided out at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai, in two front fields of science and technology videlicet Lasers and gases. On February 19, 1984 the President of India, Gyani Zail Singh, arrange the foundation stone of the center. Building of laboratories and houses started in May 1984. Eligibility
For Physics student
M.Sc. degree in Physics/Applied Physics or B. Tech/B.E. degree in Engineering Physics, with a lower limit of 60% marks, and who have passed Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST 2011).
For Chemistry and Life Sciences student
M.Sc. degree with lower limit 60% marks, in Chemistry or Life Sciences, and who have cleared joint CSIR-UGC Net and/or Gate are eligible to apply.
Those applicants whose final results of qualifying degree are awaited can also apply
Nationality
Student should be an Indian people.
RRCAT 2011 Selection process
Selection of the students for the Ph.D. Programme will be a two-step process:
(1) Screening of short-list students followed by
(2) Interview of the short-listed students.
