CIEFL Hyderabad is the only university in India committed exclusively to the study of English and foreign languages. Central Institute of English was launched in 1958, by the Government of India. It was agreed central university status and was renamed as the English and Foreign Languages University. The English and Foreign Languages University (EFL University) is a Central University founded by an Act of the Indian Parliament on 3 August 2007.The University’s main campus is situated in Hyderabad apart from two more campuses functional at Lucknow and Shillong.
