Introduction
The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and technology (CIPET) is an autonomous educational body establish under the section of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Ministry of chemicals and plant food, Government of India standing out in furnishing top class technical knowledge in the area of plastic engineering .The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and technology (CIPET), Chennai s the precursor amongst its peer and was found in 1968 under the UNDP aid ship. Being a open up college in the area of Plastic Engineering, the Institution has expressed versatility in other allied arenas like Mould design and Fabrication, CNC Tooling, Plastics Processing, testing, caliber Control equipt with state of art services. It also has a CAD/CAM/CAE center. The courses CIPET are currently attached to either Madras University or Anna University.

Eligibility
For PD-PMD: 3 year Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, Tool, Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Tool & Die making, DPMT, DPT (CIPET) or its equal.
For DPMT and DPT: 10th Standard with Maths. English & Science
For PGD—PPT: 3 years degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects.
For M.Tech (PE/PT): B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc., Engg.(4 years) In Mechanical / Chemical / Production / Polymer /Plastics Engineering / Technology (or) M.Sc. in Polymer Science / Chemistry with polymer specialization.
For M. Tech. – PNT: B.E. /B.Tech.(4 years) in Mechanical, Plastics Engineering / Technology / Polymer / Chemical (or) M.Sc., in Polymer Chemistry / Polymer Science / Physics / Chemistry with Valid GATE score.
For M.E (CAD / CAM): B.E./B.Tech. (4 years) in Mechanical / Automobile / Manufacturing /Production /Industrial / Mechatronics / Marine / Aeronautical)
