Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) is a prime National Institution dedicated to Academic, Technology Support & Research (ATR) for the Plastics & allied industries, in India. First CIPET campus was launched by Government of India in 1968 at Chennai and subsequently 14 CIPET entities have been laid down by Government of India in the country.

Today 15 CIPET Campus- impose our campus (Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Hajipur, Haldia, Jaipur, Imphal, Lucknow, Mysore and Panipat ) are contributing through ATR services to the industries in India and Abroad, having uniform infrastructural facilities in the areas of Design, CAD/CAM/CAE, Tooling & Mould Manufacturing, Plastics processing, Testing and Quality control.It contributes postgraduate degree level course in the field of Plastic Engineering. For the smooth conduct of its courses, Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology has a number of modern facilities for its students.

The admissions to the Undergraduate curriculums for all Indian and Foreign nationals at these institutions are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). M.Sc Integrated courses in pure and applied sciences and M.Tech Integrated courses in a few disciplines are also offered by some of the IIT Institutes. In addition, some IITs offer Dual Degree M.Tech. Schedule wherein both B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees are awarded at the end of the programme. For admission to 5 1/2 years incorporated M.Tech. course in Biotechnology, candidate must have had biology/life science in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Eligibility
10+2 (Academic Stream) with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry. (Minimum 60% of aggregate marks)

Maximum Age 21 years.

Admission
CIPET established 15 state-of-the-art centers spreading across the country. Admission to these centers is through the joint entrance examination (JEE) led every year by CIPET.
This is one of the leading institutes under the ministry of chemicals and fertilizers which leads in chemical research. This offers a course in nanotechnology as post graduate studies.

Examination
The JEE consists of (a) preliminary examination (screening test) and (b) main examination. Preliminary examination comprises of an objective type paper of 3 hours duration in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Only those candidates, who qualify the screening exam, are eligible to appear in the main examination. The main examination has papers in physics, chemistry and mathematics of 2 hours duration each. These institutions offer courses leading to Bachelor’s degree in a number of engineering, technological and scientific fields.

Application form
Receive application form from any of CIPET centers by postponing a registration fee of Prescribe amount with a self addressed envelope size 35cm x 25cm stamped for Rs.50/- by post or n person. Result awaited students may also apply.

    Sir

    My son who is doing three years Diploma Engg. in Plastic Technology from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh – UP India. He is in final year would be completed shortly(2010-2011). There is no B.Tech in this specialization in AMU. He is interested to take admission in Bachelor of Technology in Plastics Engineering/Technology (B.Tech. – PE/PT) – (4 Years) or Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing (PGD-PPT)course in CIPET, Ahmadabad/Lucknow. You are kindly requested to guide the admission procedure for the session 2011-12. Further I am very keen to know the annual fee structure (study course) including hostel/mess to enable me to make a plan for getting admission in the above course.
