Introduction
Government Dental College in Kottayam, Kerala, was launched with the intention of giving eminent standards of teaching in the area of dental science. It began its first academic session in 2002, although the dental college was giving high standards of teaching for nearly 40 years, underneath the Dental Department of Govt. Medical College, Kottayam. The college keeps the differentiation of being the third Govt. dental college of the state.Government Dental College Kottayam is associated to Mahatma Gandhi University. The courses provided by it are accredited by Dental Council of India (DCI).

Eligibility
The student should have passed 10+2 examination from an accredited board with 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology taken together. Exemption of 10% is there for SC/ST students.
