Establish in 1974, the Department of Industrial and Management Engineering (IME) at IIT Kanpur was one of the first in the nation to accredit the strength of combining the training of engineers with management teaching. Today the Department is engaged in a diverse set of activities that admit teaching, academic research, industry consulting, regularly held management growth programmes, and public sector projects.
