The Microbiology Department was Founded in 1964, and since 1985-86, it also offers the M.Sc. Biotechnology Course in addition to the master’s course in Microbiology. The backbone of the department is the intellectual rigor allowed for by a devoted faculty and students coming from all across the country. The Department of Microbiology and Biotechnology Centre offers a two years Post Graduate program leading to the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Microbiology. M.Sc in this programme commence with central courses in Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology and Molecular Biology and then continue to a thorough study of their chose area of specialization.

The Candidates should have passed B.Sc under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical, Biological, Agricultural Sciences with 50% of marks.
Selection Process
The Candidates Selection is based on Entrance Test and a Personal interview conducted by the M.S.University.
