Introduction
The functions of the Department of Collegiate Education have been increasing quickly both in quantity and in diversity. This department which was initially started in 1957 as a controlling office in respect of 13 Government Colleges has at present a much larger role to play. The department watches out the administration of the 46 Government Colleges admitting the Music, Training and Physical Education Colleges and also implements the scheme for direct payment of salaries in value of 176 Private Colleges. The Directorate of Collegiate Education is responsible authority for providing degree and post graduate education through Government and Private Aided colleges.
The main functions of the Directorate of Collegiate Education are:
To offer under graduate and postgraduate courses like Bachelor of Arts (B. A), Bachelor of Science (B. Sc), and so on To help meritorious pupils who are economically backward
Eligibility
A graduate degree in any field.
Age
Age as on 01-08-2010 should be 21 years. Maximum age limit is 30 years for OC candidates, 33 years for BC/MBC candidates and 35 for SC/ST candidates.
Exam Pattern
The Entrance Examination will consist of objective type of questions on the following subjects.
Indian History
Geography
Public Administration
Economics
Current Affairs
General English
General Science
Application Procedure
The candidates should apply for the Entrance Exam in the following format:-
The application in A4 size paper with a Recent Passport size photo stuck on and attested at the right hand side corner, a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 200/- from any Nationalized Bank drawn in favor of the Principal of the preferred centre and a self addressed sufficiently stamped envelope should be sent to the Principal of the preferred centre, so as to reach the respective centre on or closing date.
The envelope should be super scribed as “Civil Services Examinations Coaching – Application for Entrance Examination”. The name and address of the candidate should be clearly written on the reverse of the Demand Draft and the envelope.
Selection Procedure:
Selection is based on Entrance Test and Interview. Short listed candidates based on merit will be called for an interview.No. TA/DA will be paid for the candidates appearing for the Entrance Examination / Interview
