The District Mental Health Programme Thiruvananthapuram is the first district mental health Programme distributed to the state of Kerala, below the National Mental Health Programme. Hospital, Imphal as a nodal Institute.

This example has been pilot tested in Bellary District of Karnataka State and institute to be very useful to address the basic mental health needs of the universe.
The Ministry of Health, Government of India conceives of extension of District Mental Health Program to all the districts in the country as part of the 11th five-year plan. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India has regenerated the District Mental Health Programme founded the available evidence. As part of these training faculties were produced in NIMHANS. Over 70 mental health professional person from all over the country as part of national consultive meeting applied in NIMHANS offered wrathful suggestions in originating this material.
