It came into existence as a development Bank having twin status an Industrial Development Institution as well State Finance Corporation (SFC). Over the period of time EDC Limited has contributed in upliftment of economy by providing the loan to various service sector projects and industries cumulative for about Rs. 800 Crores.

Patto Plaza is developed by EDC. The Plaza is stretching for about 177000 k.m. The board have acquired the land and completed all the steps to convert land into well developed complex. This complex is then distributed among many parties like ESIC, Bharat Petroleum, LIC, Bank of India, State Bank of India, Registrar of Companies, Income Tax Dept., Regional Provident Fund , Passport Dept, Dempos, Sesa Goa Ltd., Govt. of Goa, DLF Ltd, Parsvnath Developers Ltd.
