IIIT-B was established on September 15, 1999 as the Indian Institute of Information Technology. IIIT-Bangalore is encouraged by the Government of Karnataka and the IT industry. The International Institute of Information Technology, a Deemed University, popularly recognized as IIIT-B, was launched in 1999 with a vision to give to the IT world by focus on education and research, entrepreneurship and invention. IIIT-B was constituted after taking inspiration from the other well proved Institutes of National Importance (INI) in India. IIIT-Bangalore is handled by a Governing Body with N.R.Narayana Murthy, Chief Mentor of Infosys, as the Chairperson.

Eligibility:
A candidate should have a Master’s Degree with minimum 60% marks from any recognized University.
Selection process
Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in PhD Entrance Examination and an interview to be held at IIIT-Bangalore.
Admission process
The candidates can get the application form from the official website of IIIT-Bangalore and also get by post by sending a Demand Draft .Candidate has to fill out an application form that is available at the official site of IIIT-Bangalore. They also have to give an entrance test that is conduct by the university. Application form will be submitted before the last date of submission.
