The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) was launched as an independent institute of national importance in 1959 by the Government of India. IIT Madras offers various courses in PG,UG and Doctoral programmes.IIT Madras is one of the residential campuses in the country. The four semesters M.Tech. Programmes provided in various disciplines by IIT Madras. Only GATE Qualified Candidates can get admission in M.Tech. Programmes. GATE qualified candidates are also eligible for the grant of Junior Research Fellowship in CSIR Laboratories and CSIR sponsored projects.
GATE
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-India examination administrated and carried on jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordinating Board – GATE. Some government systems dictate GATE qualification as a necessity for employing to the post of a Scientist / Engineer.
Eligibility for Gate
The candidates must have a Bachelor degree holder in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) from any recognized university.
