Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is the country’s premier national Institute for agricultural research and provided the base for its fast expansion in the 1960’s and 1970’s in all its three interactive areas and unprecedented increase in the national food and agricultural production.
Entrance Examination
For Indian Agricultural Research Institute 2011 Entrance Exam only those candidates apply who completed graduation with mark is 50% for General/OBC (45% for SC/ST/PH candidates). Total marks would be considered for the preparation of merit.
Interview
Those Candidates qualifying in the Entrance Examination will be called for interview in the ratio of maximum 1:4 (No. of seats: No. of students called for interview). Candidates other than SC/ST category would appear at their own cost the selection will be on the basis of merit.
Reservation schemes
Scheduled cast for reserved 50% seats available for filling these seats. An identical procedure as above will be followed in the case of Scheduled Tribes reservations also and Scheduled Tribes seats shall be transferable from M.Sc. to Ph.D. programme and vice-versa
M.Sc. degree courses
IARI is undertaken by the Education Division of ICAR and on the basis of the merit Entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. degree courses
Ph.D. degree courses
Indian Agricultural research institute 22 disciplines shall be made for admission to the PH.D. Courses basis of the performance of candidates in the written entrance examination (70% weightage) + academic score (20% weightage) + interview (10% weightage). Entrance examination will consist of one paper of three parts: Part I (General Agriculture) and Part II & III (Subject Paper). The emoluments will be 18,000 (for Ph.D.) or 17,000 (for M.Sc.) per month + HRA
