The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), and the related National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) are a group of premier institutes being created by the Government of India.
Five IISER’s have been currently planned across the country in the following locations — Kolkata in West Bengal, Pune in Maharashtra, Mohali in Punjab, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
The IISERs at Kolkata, Pune, Mohali and Thiruvananthapuram have started functioning from the Kolkata Extension Centre of IIT Kharagpur, NCL Pune campus, MGSIPA complex in Sector 26 Chandigarh and College of Engineering,
