Introduction
Initially the Department of Health & Family Welfare was responsible for the management of all Institutions of Ayurveda in the state, besides allopath. Celebrating these concepts in opinion the State Government paid special attention by creating a separate department called Department of Ayurveda as per the Rules of Business on 7th November, 1984 bifurcating from the Health & Family Welfare Department.

Homoeopathy education is offered at first degree and postgraduate degree levels. The first degree course conducting to Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is available in 118 colleges associated to several universities. The entry requirement is a pass in 10+2 examination in science with Biology as an elective.
