Introduction
The State Government produced the Department of Information Technology and Biotechnology with the Aim of encouraging the development of Information Technology and Biotechnology Industries in the State.

Directorate of Information Technology & Biotechnology (DIT)
Karnataka State Remote Sensing Technology Applications Centre (KSRSAC)
Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (KEONICS)

Directorate of Information Technology & Biotechnology (DIT)
Directorate of Information Technology & Biotechnology was founded vide the Government Order No. ITD 02 PRM 2001 dated 19.09.2001.
The directorate was left with the duty of carrying out the several Information Technology and Biotechnology promotional activities besides its administrative functions.
