Introduction
Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), is one of the private financed technical and management school situated in West Bengal, India. Established in the year 1989, it is the most previous privately furnished engineering school in the state of West Bengal. The Institute used to be a technological and research unit belonging to the staff of Mechanical Engineering & Management. The Institute of Management Engineering together with the Institute of Computing Science and the Institute of Control and Systems’ Engineering produces the staff of Computing Science and Management. The construction of the Institute includes seven divisions, which are responsible for both research and teaching

Eligibility for management curses
Students should have passed his graduation degree with of 60% marks excepting languages in any discipline under the pattern of 10+2+3 year pattern from a legal university who can apply for admissions to the Management course.
Eligibility for engineering curses
A student should be reached at the age of 15 years at the time of admission. A student must have passed at least Matriculation or 10 + 2 (H.S.C.) or equivalent exam of a recognized Board taking science subjects.
Renewable Energy Club
The IEM Renewable Energy Club is a dynamic sovereign system which intentions at producing a more secure future from the outlook of energy demands. The members of the club strain to produce consciousness considering the necessary to shift stress on renewable origins of energy and the club has also formulated some small scale modern examples to give energy from non-formal sources
Research Project
Each student works under the guidance of a faculty member to analyze a job topic of the student’s choosing. Students are needed to pass a minimum of fifteen forming days on the Research program.
Placements
Institute has effective placement cell. 4 placement officers under the position of the Institute’s manager operate as placement cell. Very efficient Campus Interview is a regular feature of the institute.
