Introduction
The Institute of Science (ISc) was believed as a ‘Research Institute’ or ‘University of Research’ by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, in the crepuscle years of the 19th century. A Big period of almost thirteen years was to pass from the initial concept in 1896 to the birth of the Institute on May 27, 1909. The former history of the Institute is an absorbing chapter in the story of higher teaching and scientific experiment in India. The design of characters in the play that conducted to the organization of the Institute admits, in addition to its charismatic and generous founder J.N. Tata, figures from the pages of Indian history.

Students are granted scholarships from the time of their connecting or August 1st (whichever is later). The value of the scholarship per month for students entered in dissimilar programs of the institute
