ISI Kolkata PhD Admission

Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata was founded on 17th December 1931 by Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis, the famous Indian scientist and applied statistician, who opened up the work on anthropometric variation in India. Prof. Mahalanobis, recipient of the Padma Vibhushan award by the Government of India, added prominently to the cause of industrialization and economic development of a newly independent India while working with his colleagues at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.
