The University of Jammu better known as Jammu University has been recognized with Four Star University by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) of India. It came into world in 1969 by Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 after the partition of University of Jammu and Kashmir. Sanctioned by the University Grant Commission, UGC, Jammu University is placed on the banks of Tawi River. The university takes pride for being the first ISO-9001 certified university of India. University of Jammu was constituted in 1969 with the separation of Jammu & Kashmir University. Since then, it began its academic session for spiritual and material elements in life, thirst for knowledge and virtue.
