University of Jammu instituted the Directorate of Distance Education, (then acknowledged as Institute of Correspondence Education) in March, 1976.In recent times there had been prodigious gain in the educational necessarily of the country. It is an advanced system, which is academically sound and economically workable and as such, has demonstrated to be a blessing for those who have no accession to education. This is a job pointed course and first of its kind through distance mode of education in the country.
