The Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the premier institutes in India providing higher education. JNU came into existence in 1969 under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act, 1966. This Central University in India seeks to promote national integration, social justice, and democratic way of life, secularism, international understanding and scientific approach to solving problems of society. As a result, JNU is today renowned not only for its high quality of education but also for its social sensitivity.

JNU Entrance Exam
Every year, lakhs of students take the JNU Entrance Exam in various nooks and corners of the country and seeks to become a part of the JNU community. The JNU Entrance exam is also unique in the sense that apart from providing reservation to the backward sections of the society, it allots deprivation points to the girl candidates and to candidates coming from the least developed states.

JNU Application Procedure
If you want to procure an application form for JNU Entrance exam by post, your request should be accompanied by a crossed Bank Draft of Rs. 200/- in favor of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at New Delhi as well as a self-addressed (unstamped) envelope of the size of 30 cms X 25 cms. One needs to clearly indicate the category for which the Application Form is required on the self-addressed envelope to the Assistant registrar (admissions), Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067. The amount for candidates from Nepal and Sri Lanka is Rs.300/- or equivalent US Dollars. One can also acquire the form from the University cash counter on cash payment of Rs. 120/ on all working days (Monday to Friday). Proposed Key dates

Mid July – declaration of result

JNU Test Pattern
The written examination is generally followed by a viva voce in most of the programme of studies.
