Introduction
Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is placed in Puducherry and carry an individual entrance test for admission to its MBBS course. JIPMER is an institute of national grandness. It is handled by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It has an entire of 100 seats in its MBBS course and out of these admissions to 82 seats is by JIPMER entrance. Rest 18 seats are by nomination by Government of India and are are chose by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi.

Eligibility
Students seeking to perform JIPMER-MBBS ought to complete the following criteria:
Student should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (+2) under 10+2+3 pattern.
Student must have fixed 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology accepted united.
Student should have attended the lower limit age of 17 years.
Student should be an Indian person.
Examination Pattern
JIPMER carries entrance examination on all India basis and only merit in the JIPMER-MBBS Entrance Examination is the standard for choice to MBBS course.
The examination comprises of 200 multiple choice objective type questions.
There are equal number of questions from each section of English, Botany, Zoology, Physics and Chemistry.
There is no negative marking for false answer.
How to Apply
Application: Application-cum-prospectus for MBBS course 2010 session can be received by one of the following methods
From the counter of state bank of India (SBI), JIPMER campus only from 25.02.2010 to 15.04.2010 or \
Postal request to professor academic, JIPMER from 25.02.2010 to 08.04.2010 came with needed DD. Two stickers with student address written legibly must also be enclosed for true delivery of the prospectus and application form or
On-line submission by JIPMER website www.jipmer.edu from 25.02.2010 to 08.04.2010. Completed online applications with needed DD must reach Professor Academic, JIPMER on or before 15.04.2010
