JMET 2011 Exam Joint Management Entrance Test for MBA
Appearing for Joint Management Entrance Test – JMET 2011 is the first step in the procedure of looking for admission to the Post-Graduate Programmes in Management provided by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee to the 2-year full time Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IISc and the IITs for the academic year commencing July/Aug 2011. JMET 2011 is only a qualifying examination. Candidates require for applying individually to the Institutes of their choice. They are also suggested to look up the details rendered in the brochure about the programmes available in the entering Institutes. There is no limit to the number of programmes a candidate may apply to, so long as he or she gathers the eligibility criteria.
Application Form
JMET 2011 Application Form has to be accepted online. Online filing of application may be done by accessing the website of any of the IITs or IISc. There are 2 modes of applying based on the method of fee payment that you choose. By Core Banking or By Demand Draft. After applying online, there are some documents that you will have to post to the “Chairman, GATE Office, IISc Bangalore-560012″.
Eligibility
Students with a first class Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent) or first class Master’s degree in Science are eligible for admission to the M.Mgt. Programme. Students must have secured min. 60% aggregate marks / min. CGPI of 6.5 out of 10 at the qualifying examination. There is a relaxation of 5% in marks or equivalent in CGPI for SC/ST candidates. Work experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Selection Procedure: Candidates are first screened looking on their JMET percentiles. The screened candidates are then called for an entrance test, interview and a general discussion.
