Introduction
Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium research development and Design Centre, Nagpur is a “Centre of Excellence” found in 1989 and fully operable since 1996. Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium research development and Design Centre also offers mixture of analytical and testing facilities to other non-ferrous industries, steel industries and small scale industries, mainly in the fields of chemical and mineralogical analysis, powder characterization, thermal mapping, microstructural studies, mechanical and non-destructive testing, and technical information.

The Centre has well-instituted facilities for the study of Bauxite, Alumina and Aluminium. Its principal absorption is with all aspects of Bayer process of alumina manufacture, electrolytic smelting of aluminum, downstream processing, product development and reprocessing of aluminum. Indian Aluminium Industry, Indian Mining Industry, R&D and Academic Institutions in India actively participate in these programs and get benefited. About 600 Industry personnel from NALCO Smelter and 12 from NALCO Rolled Product Unit have recently been trained by these programmes.

In an attempt to attract Global Aluminium Industry, Jawaharlal Nehru Aluminium research development and Design Centre proposes a series of short term courses and training programs for the Aluminium Industry personnel in the following fields for the year 2008-2009.
