Institute of Distance Learning KNUST

Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology is a technical university situated in Kumasi, Ghana. The University is the second public university to be launch in the country. It was establish as the Kumasi College of Technology in 1952. The nucleus of the college was formed from 200 teacher training students transferred from Achimota in the Greater Accra Region.

Distance learning
In the year 2005, the KNUST adopted Distance Learning as a viable complement to the conventional face-to-face system of education. This decision was made in order to offer chance for people to pursue academic programme with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), while still on full time work.

The Institute of Distance Learning (IDL) is therefore expected to increase access to quality tertiary teaching and training through the use of a wide range of technologies.[

Mission Statement:
The mission of KNUST is to provide an environment for teaching, research and entrepreneurship training in Science and Technology for maturation of Ghana and Africa. KNUST will also provide service to the community, be open to all the people of Ghana and positioned to attract scholars, industrialists and enterprisers from Africa and other international communities.

    I am a registered general nursing practitioner with 3yrs post-registration experience. I have a FGPA of 3.57 after the top-up diploma from UG. May i know whether u have Bsc. Nursing under distance mode? If not, which course can i do under the distance mode with my present qualification. Also, is the admission period over and what are the fees per semester?

    I AM CURRENTLY WORKING WITH TEMA OIL REFINERY AS MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN.I HOLD A HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING WITH FIVE YEARS WORKING EXPERIENCE.
    NOW I WANT TO KNOW IF U HAVE A MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DISTANCE PROGRAMME FOR WORKERS BCS MOST OF OUR TECHNICIAN ARE INETRESTED INCLUDING MYSELF.
