Lalit Narayan Mithila University
Lalit Narayan Mithila University or LNMU Darbhanga is a teaching-cum-affiliating University. Mithila University was launched by an regulation in 1972. Lalit Narayan Mithila Vishvidyalaya, Darbhanga was founded as a result of the desire of the people of this area to have a centre of higher technical education. It has been acknowledged by University Grant Commission (UGC) in 1986 on account of its functioning in furnishing education and training. LNMU Darbhanga is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).The university has under its legal power various component colleges as well as associated colleges.
