MDU has been named after the great social reformer and founder of Arya Samaj, Maharshi Dayanand University. In the year of 1978, it became a teaching-cum-associating university with the affiliation of various colleges of Haryana. National Assessment and certification Council, NAAC, has graded it as B++ University.
