National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd.(NAFED) was founded on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 1958. NAFED was establishing with the object to encourage Co-operative marketing of Agricultural Develop to gain the farmers. Agricultural farmers are the main members of NAFED, who have the confidence to say in the form of members of the General Body in the working of NAFED.

Management of NAFED
The management of NAFED vests in the Board of Directors, which admits Chairman and Managing Director. The Board is defended by 2 standing committees – Executive Committee and Business Committee. In increase, the Board can also appoint two more committees/sub-committees as per the provision of the MSCS Act/Rules and Bye-laws of NAFED.

Price Support Scheme (PSS)
The Goverment of India declares minimal Support Price (MSP) of 25 commodities some from rabi and KHARIF crops for procurement by different agencies under Price Support system (PSS) to sustain and improve the product of these crops by guaranteeing the farmers minimum assured price before the sowing starts. NAFED extended to be the nodal agency of the Goverment of India to undertake procurement of identified Oilseeds and Pulses under PSS.
