Padma Bhusan Professor S.P.Chatterjee, the founder Director of the National Atlas & Thematic Mapping Organisation who 1st began to program of collecting a National Atlas of India in Hindi – the Raj Bhasa. He talked about the plan with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the India in 1953 who at once sanctioned the plan. NATMO is commanded in compilation of the National Atlas of India, making of National Atlas in regional languages, increasing accelerate and efficiency in the field of mapping with the serve of facility of Automated Mapping System.
