National Institute Of Design Entrance Exam
National Institute of Design was launched in 1961 as an autonomous national institution for research .The institute provides 4 years Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) and 2 to 2½ year Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD).
The admission to these programmes is made through an entrance test conducted by the institute normally in the month of January.
National Institute of Design directs Design Admission Test (DAT) for admission to its Post Graduate Programs in Design.NID Entrance Test (DAT) is carried on at Ahmedabad, Bangluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata & Mumbai. There are about 220 seats in PGDPD programme available through DAT.

Eligibility
A candidate must have a bachelor’s degree after 10+2 in a field applicable to one in which candidates wants to apply for admission.

Admission Procedure
The candidates can be received Application form and prospectus on payment of Rs. 1500/- or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of “National Institute of Design” payable at Ahmedabad.

Important Dates
Issuing of Forms starts from October 9, 2010
Last date for receiving completed forms by NID October 31, 2010
Hall Ticket/ Call Letter will be posted by December 20, 2010
Call letters for this phase of the interview by March 26, 2010
Design Aptitude Test for PGDPD January 9, 2010
Design Aptitude Test for GDPD January 10, 2010
Dates of the studio tests/ interviews GDPD April 20 – 24, 2010
Dates of the studio tests/ interviews PGDPD April 20 – May 3, 2010
