NIH was founded 10th December 1975 in Kolkata as an Independent Organisation below the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The NIH is working in its have campus assessing about 16 land of country at Block – GE, Sector – III, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700 106, with a total floor space of about 1.8 lakh square metres with effect from 11.08.1986. Now it comprises of an Undergraduate and Postgraduate parts with an area of 800 seating capacity, a hospital having an patient dept. and a 60 bedded inpatients dept. along with investigative facilities.
Herb Garden – Kalyani
There is a Herb Garden (almost 25 acres) at Kalyani, almost 60km off from the Institute, conceived of for acclimatizing exotic form which are in general imported in order to save foreign substitute and to build up repository of authentic examples of medicinal plants for use by candidate and researchers.
Aims & Objectives
- To conduct research on several expressions of Homoeopathy;
- To allow for medical care by Homoeopathy to the bearing humanity;
- To behavior experiments and formulate practices of teaching in under – graduate and post – graduate education on several aspects of Homoeopathy;
- To encourage the growth and development of Homoeopathy;
- To develop graduates and post graduates in Homoeopathy;
- To allow for and assist in allowing for services and facilities for research, evaluation, training, consultation, and guidance related Homoeopathy;
