NBCSN 2011 Recruitment Exam
The National Board for Certification of School Nurses, Inc. (NBCSN) is an independently comprised system established for the role of formulating and carrying out the voluntary certification procedure of school nurses. The NBCSN is an independent system; however, NBCSN works in collaboration with the National Association of School Nurses, and communication among the two systems is a priority.

Eligibility
Attainment of bachelor’s degree or higher, in nursing or health related field, or the equivalent in other countries.
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the United States.
Current certification by NBCSN as an NCSN

Exam Administration & Fees
The Certification Examination is administered for NBCSN by the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC).
Non refundable Application fee – $325.00 Approx

Multiple-Choice, Objective Questions
Time Limit – 4 hours
20% health promotion/disease prevention
27% health appraisal
10% special health issues
15% professional issues
28% health problems and nursing management

How to Apply
The National Certification Examination for School Nurses is offered double a year, with two week windows scheduled for each examination period of time. The exam is given in a computer based format at testing centers across the United States. The Handbook for Candidates includes the application as well as allow for more comprehensive information about the examination.
