National Institute of Design (NID) is settled in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is believed as one of the esteemed institutions in India, for design teaching. The college was constituted almost 40 years ago. National institute of Design is an independent institution, running under Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and Government of India. It is accepted by the Dept. of Scientific and Industrial Research, Govt. of India. Though the main campus is placed in Ahmedabad, some campuses of NID are also situated elsewhere in India. Moreover, a new PG campus is being made in Gandhinagar.
