National Institute of Fashion Technology was established in 1986. NIFT offers four-year bachelor and two-year master programs in the areas of Design, Management and Technology. NIFT has been allowed legal status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006, enabling the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions.
