NIT Calicut 2011 Entrance Exam National Institute of Technology
Introduction
The National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC) was found as a Regional Engineering College, to foster technical and engineering education in the country on one of the 5 Year Plans. The institute turned a Deemed University in the year 2002 and is a society registered Below the Societies Registration Act, 1960. The National Institute of Technology, Calicut, is cuddled at the base of the Western Ghats and is around 20 MK away from the city of Calicut. As per the rules and regulations of the UGC NITC is regulated by a Board of Directors appointed by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development.

Eligibility for NIT Calicut B. Tech.
A pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination in first effort with minimum 60% marks aggregate in Physics. Chemistry and Mathematics, 60% in Mathematics is compulsory and should have qualified in written test 2011 Candidates should not have completed 21 years of age.
Eligibility for NIT Calicut M. Tech.
A candidate must have passed in B. Tech. examination in first effort with minimum 60% marks aggregate in any of following subjects:- Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electronics & Media Technology.
Admission Procedure:
The candidates have to fulfill all the eligible criteria first for availing the diverse course and have to fill an application form to register their names for the entrance examination taken in throughout India. The applicants have to post the application form within the date and at the appropriate address. Last date for receipt of completed application: End of May 2011.
NIT Reservations
50% of the seats in N.I.T Trichy are reserved for Students from Tamilnadu. Rest 50% for students on All India basis, Reservation Policy : OBC – 27%, SC – 15%, ST – 7.5%.

Admission:
Candidate wishful of pursuing an UTG course in the NITC are called for to qualify in the AIEEE coordinated by the CBSE, New Delhi. Those who have finished UG courses in Engineering and want to continue with their studies i.e. enroll for M. Tech and Ph. D have to Eligibility in the GATE examinations Held by the Indian Institutes of Technology. For the MCA courses, the entrance is by the NIMCET examinations Held by the National Institutes of Technology, jointly.

sir,
i got a gate score of 511 in CS branch. What are my chances of getting admission in NIT calicut?
Also I want to know from when can I start applying. Till now there is no notification available in the NIT calicut website.

I have completed chemical engineering and want to pursue M.tech from NIT’s but I have not cleared GATE2010. Does NIT’s conduct an exam for candidate like me. Or is there another way to get into NIT’s??
