Nit Silchar M Tech
National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar), an Institute of National Importance beneath the NIT Act was founded in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College (REC), Silchar. NIT Silchar is placed on the banks of river Barak. In year 2002, it was upgraded to the status of an NIT from a Regional Engineering College (REC).

Eligibility
Postgraduate: Pass in B.E./B.Tech or equal degree in the relevant field with not less than 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination is required for admission in MTech course.
Admission Procedure
Students having valid GATE scores are given preference for admission onto the M Tech course.
