The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology was founded in the year of 1968. It has been providing different Plastic Engineering Diploma to suit the needs of the Plastics industry.
Central Institute of Plastics engineering and Technology offers Plastic Engineering Diplomas given below:
Course (Duration): Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing and Testing (PGD-PPT) – (1½ Years).
Qualification: 3 Years Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the disciplines.
Age Limit: 24 year.
Course (Duration): Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT) – (3 Years).
Qualification: X Standard with Maths, Science and English.
Age Limit: 19 year.
Course (Duration): Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (PD-PMT) – (4 Years integrated dual diploma).
Qualification: X Standard with Maths, Science and English.
Age Limit: 19 year.
Course (Duration): Diploma in Plastics Technology (DPT) – (3 Years).
Qualification: X Standard with Maths, Science and English.
Age Limit: 19 year.
Course (Duration): Post Diploma in Plastics Technology (PD – PT)- (4 Years integrated dual diploma).
Qualification: X Standard with Maths, Science and English.
Age Limit: 19 year.
Course (Duration): Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design (PD-PMD) – (1 Year).
Qualification: 3 year Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics Technology, Tool/Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Tool & Die Making, DPMT/DPT (CIPET) or equivalent.
Age Limit: 24 year.
Note
5 years age relaxation is permitted for SC/ST examinees, Sponsored Candidates and scholars for North-Eastern Region in the case of Diploma /Post Diploma /Post Graduate Diploma curricula.

Whole the centres of Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology across the India have a good library with books allied to Plastics Technology. The collection adds some rare books on Plastics Technology. The collection adds some rare books on Plastics. The complete number of books in the libraries at totally the centres is around 35,000.
Admission Procedure
Doctoral Program: The examinees that satisfy the qualification criteria will be invited interview. Choice will be supported on the previous academic performance and the marks secured in the interview. Admission to PhD curriculum is possible any time in the year for whole categories of research students.
Post Graduate Program: JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a common admission exam for the examinees seeking admission for M.Tech. courses. It is directed through CIPET corporate during the month of July all year. Choice will be supported on the marks secured through the examinee in JEE and the previous academic performance and as per norms of relating university.
