The Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) the Central Transmission Utility of the country is engaged in power transmission business with the mandate for planning, co-ordination, supervision. The POWERGRID, as on July 2009, owns and operates about 71,600 CKT KMS of transmission lines at 800/765 kV, 400 kV, 220 kV & 132 kV EHVAC & +500 kV HVDC levels and 122 sub-stations with transformation capacity of about 81,200 MVA. About 45% of total power generated in the country is wheeled through this transmission network.

Eligibility:
The candidate must not exceed the age of 27 years as on 31st August 2011. However, relaxation can be claimed as per the rules.
Application Form
The application form for the posts in POWERGRID can be obtained from offices by paying the prescribed fees in cash or demand draft. The candidate are required to fill the complete application form along with necessary documents and have to submit it before the last date of receipt of application form.
Educational Qualifications:
The student should have a diploma in civil or electrical engineering in any recognized university or institute.
The student minimum marks of 70%

The No. of Seat:
The No. of seat 42 (27-UR, 2-SC, 7-ST and 6-OBC) for trainees in the electrical department and 13 posts (8–UR , 1-SC, 2-ST and 2-OBC) in the civil department.
Selection process:
The student has to appear in a written test and the qualifying candidates will appear for an interview.
