Punjab Technical University (PTU) was constituted to encourage technical, management & pharmaceutical teaching in state. The university was establishing on 16th January 1997 by an Act of Legislature. The University has beneath its association 40 Engineering colleges, 56 Management, 17 Pharmacy colleges, 6 Architecture, 2 Hotel Management and 13 colleges giving courses in Medical Lab Technology & IT disciplines.
